According to the sources, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle appear not to have been invited to attend the Elizabeth II pre-funeral reception scheduled to take place at Buckingham Palace on Sunday.
UK media reports say that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were initially invited by King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, but because they are not working royals are not expected to appear.
Buckingham Palace Spokesperson said "only working royals will take part", confirming Prince Harry's absence and his wife, Meghan.
Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday 8 and will be buried on Monday, September 19, an event that will be graced by the heads of state and leaders of the Commonwealth Nations from around the world.
President Joe Bidden plus Queens and Kings alongside Europe have confirmed their attendance too.
The Queen is lying in a state at the Palace of Westminster to allow members of the public last tribute to her. On Monday, the Queen's coffin will be moved to the church for the official funeral service.
Sources close to the royal couple indicate that Harry and Meghan were "baffled" by the decision to rescind the invitation. The two gave royal duties as Duke and Duchess of Sussex in January 2020 following their inner turmoil within the family.
